Birthdays & Blooming Great Tea Party News

Posted on July 7, 2015

Hello!

It’s been birthday time in the Pelta household as Mr P celebrated his 36th/37th/47th/52nd birthday (depending on who you ask!) ๐Ÿ˜‰ and we celebrated with some chocolate brownies (his favourite!!)

For Mr P’s birthday celebrations I organised for the whole family to go on the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium Tour – this is fabulous for Spurs fans (which is just over half of my family) and even me and my littlest twin (who are Chelsea supporters) had a great time too (sorry to my lifelong Chelsea fan Dad!!)

In the evening I took Mr P to Drive In Cinema to watch The Goonies! It was my first experience of Drive In Cinema and my first time seeing The Goonies! And when I put this on my personal Facebook page, a lot of people were shocked/appalled by the fact that I hadn’t seen The Goonies!

It was a really brilliant evening and I highly recommend the experience. It was also brilliant to put our hazards on to get popcorn delivered to our car!!

Earlier in the week I had the pleasure of going to see Idina Menzel at Wembley Arena. I am a HUGE fan of hers and it was a real treat to hear her sing songs such as ‘Defying Gravity’ and ‘Let It Go’ live!

Last Monday I went to Kenton’s Jewish Care Day Centre to bake there for Jewish Bake Day! It was a lot of fun….even though I didn’t have any working scales (!!!) and we all managed to make pretty delicious marble cupcakes anyway!

One lovely participant was even inspired to bake again the next day, having not baked for many years previously!

Thanks also to the Jewish News for my picture in the community pages this week.

This week I’ve been drinking a few of these:

But in my defence, for the the competition question for my Mr Sherick’s Shakes competition on my Facebook page ‘What are your tips for keeping cool in this weather?’ Many* people said Pimms….

*may not strictly be true…. ๐Ÿ™‚

I must say a big ‘well done’ to ย super talented little baker Matilda for baking my Sour Cream Banoffee Cake for her Marie Curie Blooming Great Tea Party and to her Auntie Kate for sending me these pictures:

And talking of Blooming Great Tea Party’s….. I have BIG NEWS!!!

I am beyond DELIGHTED to announce, that with all of my final donations in, the total amount raised by my Blooming Great Tea Party is exactly:

I am so happy, proud and grateful to have transferred that money over to Marie Curie, as it will make such a difference.

Thank you to all those that came, supported, donated, cared and helped.

I’ll be back soon with another competition too.
